Born in 1961. I grew up on classic science fiction and comic books. Most of my favorite material is predictable - original Star Trek, Farscape, (new) Battlestar, (new) Who and anything by Joss Whedon.

I really only discovered Fan Fiction at the beggining of 2014. My first ship was Batman / Wonder Woman. It's a combination you didn't even know you were missing out on until you first experience it. As luck would have it, that inadvertnatly led me to a great Batgirl / Harley Quinn romance called "Psalm of the Lark" by JessicaX. One of the best fics I'd ever read, so of course I had to read everything else JessicaX had written, except for a little story called "Min Søster Bursdagskake". Elsanna? What the hell? That doesn't make sense at all.... until I finally broke down and read it. I get a little taste and want some more, which led me to "Locked Away" by J. Peterson. To paraphrase a line from one of her other stories, "...the moment the whole world went Technicolor...". I was done for.

Things went crazy from there. I am scouring the net for Elsanna stories and content. I find the Elsanna Reddit and notice recurring requests for recommendations. Hey, I have some skills... maybe I could help with that? Instead of writing stories, I am spending time indexing content in a database. If that wasn't bad enough, MPSantiago comes along and somehow convinces me that we should build an Elsanna Art Archive on Tumblr. Tumblr? I've never even understood Tumblr. It didn't matter. We figure it out, and my partner in crime is content producing machine, so the end result is amazing. At that point it becomes cause and effect. I love Copper, so build an archive. Do an interview? Hook up with Fruipit and the Elsanna Positivity Project. Someone on FF.net is complaining about adult content from some of my favorite authors? Oh, hell no! The great thing about shipping Elsanna is the fans. If my math is correct, each Elsanna fan is literally one-in-a-million. That leads to having some really great people willing to work hard towards a common goal. MPSantiago and Fruipit didn't even blink when I pulled them into this. They may regret that in the future when Frozen 2 comes out, but for now, it's all good, and special. I follow other ships, and I have yet to find one with the same magical blend of authors, artists and fans that we have here. I guess that's why I'm here and why I'll stay.

By the way, if you managed to make it this far, then that little story will explain why we host some non-Elsanna content. It's my way of giving a special perk to our Elsanna authors. One single story led me to this end because I like the way someone writes. Someday, maybe something posted here will lead someone else to a new passion, and that thought makes me smile.

Also known as The Ingridverse. Elsa is sexually attracted to Anna, but reciprocating is a problem for Anna. A chambermaid named Ingrid helps Elsa cope, and they become close. The major stories are Anything Her Heart Desires and Anywhere Her Heart May Lead, with To Her Heart's Content to follow. Where The Heart Is, The Queen's Touch, and Ye Royal Supply Closet are side fics that go between AHHD and AHHML.

This is a great series!  A good mix between the longer "main" stories and a few smaller "fill-in" stories, all of which feature Ingrid, who is my favorite OC in the Elsanna fandom.  She's actually so ggod that I wouldn't mind seeing this morph into a Poly story line.

So, this is the 2nd "Elsa suicide" story that I have read in the past week (purely by accident).   Despite being very well written, I just can't get on board with the portrayal.  Elsa has always struck me as someone who would (and did) do everything for her sister, and would never subject her to that level of pain.  Until the end, I actually had some hope that there would be a happy ending, but no such luck.  I knew that was over when Anna passed up a Disney World trip.

Author's Response:

i think you're absolutely right in saying that elsa would do anything for anna. however, as we've seen in the movie, elsa is also very good at doing what she thinks is 'right' for everyone, and it's almost impossible to convince her otherwise. in this story, i tried to look at events purely from elsa's perspective. she can never admit to anna that she's in love with her, because acceptance or even recirpocation is, in her mind, absolutely impossible. but the feelings are still there, and she is around anna every day of every week; and elsa is also very good at it's blaming herself. and eventually it reaches a breaking point where she just can't go on any longer. she only sees two options: admit to anna, or end it all. and after years of self-deprication and feeling guilty and inadequate, she's got herself convinced that her dying would hurt anna less than her feelings would. from there on out, everything snowballs into a perfect storm of misunderstandings, things that were said but shouldn't have been...

that all being said, i completely understand if my story just doesn't 'work' with you. i know my own special brand of angst can be...hard to digest for some people^^

what i am interested in, though: how did anna mean her 'I love you too' at the end, in your opinion?

Well, based on Anna's behavior after the kiss, the "I love you too" had to be purely sisterly.  Anything else would be so cruel and evil that Anna should be following Elsa into the afterlife.

This is an excellent little one shot.  I enjoyed the setting since it shows Elsanna works in any AU; you had the charachterizations spot-on.  The scrabble game was also a great little touch (even if there are not enough "y's" for syzygy).  For me, the only negative to the whole story is that you held it to a one-shot.  Just this small chapter made me want to know how their whole story plays out.  Nice work!

This was the first story I read that ever made the point that perhaps Elsa and Anna were harboring massive resentment towards thier parents.  It made me look at that part of thier lives in a whole different manner.  For that, I'll always appreciate this story.

A good short story that could have easily been the lead into a longer tale.  Bittersweet in how Anna finds out about Elsa's feelings with absolutely no time to think or react to them.

Just read this.  Extremely well written story, but massively depressing.

This isn't a version of Elsa that I can't accept.  She strikes me as someone with massive willpower.  I think she'd make it her mission in life to protect Anna...  especially from this kind of pain, even if it meant she had to suffer through her own depression.  She'd find a way to get help and get better, or at least control it's effects.  Maybe I am just too literal in how I think she would behave.

Chapter 1: Fade to Black

"When did you decide to kill her?" Elsa Nepja has devoted her life to the craft of murder. When hunting for her next target, she found more than she had ever expected. Anna swiftly became more than just prey to her, but her desire to kill her was the only thing stronger than her desire to be with her.

Okay, this is a surprisingly good little story.  I didn't think I would like the premise, but it actually kept the suspense all the way through.  The only part I couldn't quite figure out was if Elsa is an assasin or just a pschopath.  Either way though, her love for Anna wins out.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoyed it.  She was just a regular serial killer, I don't think anyone would have had a reason to put a hit on Anna.

Chapter 1: A Heart of Ice

Now in their thirties, Elsa and Anna's lives have split off down separate paths. Elsa has spent the last seven years devoting her life to her law firm, while Anna spent her time on her family and teaching career. With little time for each other and an entire country between them, the two have all but lost touch. One email changes that.

I've been following htis story since the start.  Lots of good stuff in it.  This chapter confused me a little, since it  was the first one that didn't really seem to advance the story.  When it started I thought that you were laying the groundwork for the start of the Elsa/Tiana split, but that doesn't seem to be happening yet.  The good news (to me) is that tells me that this is going to be a slow burn story, which I love, especially with an author that makes regular updates.

Nice work so far.  You are defintely building up the suspense in regards to finding out what kept the girls seperated so long.  While it might be Elsa's secret feelings for Anna, I don't quite buy that, since it's not something that she would ahve easily confessed to Anya.   That makes it even more interestign to see where you take it.

For a chapter that was basically setup, this had a lot of good stuff in it.  I was surprised by how you grew the relationship between Elsa and Gaston, and can't quite figure out how that plays into the story (yet).  The upcoming trial should be interesting, but I am not sure how it playss either.  I guess what I am trying to say is that this story is not at all predictable, which I find quite refreshing!  Right now it's one of my favorites to see an update on.

And by the way.... I loved it!  That was a great chapter regardless, but the kiss(es) just came in from out of nowhere.   It will be really interestign to see what happens next.

Good little transition chapter.  A few items of note:

  • I enjoyed Anna's conversation with Giselle, although the collar and lifestyle reference surprised me.  I don't recall that coming up earlier.
  • I really like Olaf's attiitude towards his parents split.  Smart little kid.
  • Anna still strikes me as way too impetuous.  She seems to make decision way too quickly and doesn't think them through.  The situation with Moana is likely to blow up in her face.
I really can't wait for the girls to be reunited, even though it will probably take a few chapters yet.

Great to see the new chapter.  To me it feels like a significant pivot point.  It sets the stage for Elsa and Tiana to break up, as well as Elsa to start wondering why Anna is behaving so oddly.  perhaps she'll come to the same conclusion that Anna originally had.  I am very curious to see how you progress the story between the girls while they are physically seperated.  I have an idea, and it will beintersting to see how it plays out.

As usual, grate writing and a fun read!

Chapter 19: Elsa - Sentimental Doesn't Suit Me
Reviewer: Katarr (Signed)

This chapter contains an interesting shift in the character dynamics.  Suddenly, Anna has a very clear view of where her interests lie.  I wasn't quite sure how it to that point so quickly, and it concerns me a little since early on in the story it was established that she tends to jump in too hard and too fast.  Let's hope that isn't the case here.

I alos noticed that we are seeing a new side of Tiana.  She seems to be a little obsessed with her own fame, which makes her kind of shallow.  I have to wonder if this isn't a pre-cursor to future problems for her and Elsa.  It's something that pretty much has to happen at some point, but until now, I haven't seen anything that told me how that might come about.

Good story so far.  I am looking to see how you bring it all together in the end, although I will admit to being surprised with the introduction of Jack.  I think that this may be the one and only Elsanna story where he appears.

Chapter 18: Anna - Nothing Else Would Make Sense
Reviewer: Katarr (Signed)

This is a pretty decent chapter that has a couple of interesting moments in it.  I was surprised that the trial moved so quickly.  I have no idea if the way it was presented was true to life, but it felt like it was (or at least followed the same formula and pacing that we see in telelvision law dramas).  What I couldn't quite figure out was what the key takaway was supposed to be...

  • Elsa's capability as a lawyer?  She came accross as good, but not amazing.  She even admitted to making rookie mistakes during the trial but got lucky with the outcomes.
  • The emotions of going up against her ex friend/lover?  That didn't really come through either, other than a "oh well" footnote.
  • I also considered that it might be an expose on coversion therapy, but considering the primary audience for this story, probably unneccesary.

That entire train of thought leaves me with one conclusion - this is a setup chapter!  Something BIG is going to happen in the future, and we will all look back and go "Oh, I remember that!"  (At least once with every story I have to try and guess where the author is headed.  My track record?  Horrible... but it's fun to speculate!)

Good solid writing in this chapter.  I really appreciate the little details in it, like "Courtroom 2B".  I also love the fact that you title your chapters.  Not all authors will do that, and as the stories get longer, it's nice to have that little reference to find your place again (like when something BIG happens in the future).

Wow!  What a great chapter.  I didn't think I was going to like the Anna/Esme interlude, but that was well written and a lot of fun.  Not a bad first date and I think the goats are going to have to fend for themselves tonight.

Great job!

Chapter 6: Anna - I Kinda Want To Pet a Chicken

It's 1952 and Anna is a happy housewife to her sister, Elsa, who has disguised herself as a man for the last decade and is working as a doctor. The two keep to themselves, their entire lives devoted to keeping their secrets. Unfortunately, these secrets never keep themselves forever. Elsanna, incest, 1950s AU.

Another good chapter.  I actually like the backstory, so don't be shy with it.  At least you've established the history with their parents, and left it open for the future.  Sometimes, the "died in a freak accident" trope is a little too convienent.

You hit some really decent point this time.  I think my favorite is how you established that Anna's feeling started changing with the dress.  Keep em coming!

My bad!  I guess I will put on my glasses next time!  Thanks for the clarification.  I think it probably makes more sense in the early fifties as opposed to getting close to the relatively progressive sixties.

Well, this is a different premise.  Kind of interesting, although I can't believe there is any world where Elsa could pass as a man.  If I let that go, then the story becomes kind of fun.   I loved all the grabby housewives.  If only they knew!

I look forward to seeing where you take this.

Wow. This chapter took a "cute" little short story and turned it into an excellent story that I want to see a lot more of. This chapter added a lot of depth overall, and didn't force us to sit through two years of angst following Anna's confession.  I was actually kind of glad about that.  I also loved how much each girl was willing to sacrifice to make the other happy.

On a side note, I did the math on Elsa and Anna. You established that Anna was ten years old in 1934. In Chapter 1, you mentioned that they were watching I Love Lucy, which started in 1957.   So, at a minimum, Anna is 33 and Elsa is 36.   Is that about right?  It feels about right.

Author's Response:

From what I've checked, I Love Lucy started in 1951. They're 30 and 28. Elsa was born in 1921 and Anna was born in 1924.

One of my favorite all-time fan fics.  At first, a Batgirl / Harley pairing just seems odd, but this is so well done that it just makes perfect sense.  It's a great love story all around and I probably reread it at least twice a year.  The characterization is perfect throughout, and the plot advances in a surprisingly logical manner.  My only critisismof the story is it's "Teen" rating.  I would have loved more adult content, especially since I am familar with the author's more mature works.

On a personal note - this is the story that introduced me to femslash, Forkanna's stories and ultimately Elsanna.  How could I not love it?

I absolutely love this story!  Although it starts with a with a very traumatic event (Elsa losing a foot in an avalanche), it turns into the best kind of Elsanna sweetness.  Not only does it bring the girls togetehr, but it also brings Elsa closer to her demanding and strict parents.  If the story has any failing, I would say it ended a little too abruptly.  I think there may have been room to explore the relationship a little more, or at least add some scenes of new girlfriend bliss.

On a side note, I have no idea how accurately the recovery and rehab process is presented, but it comes across very well done.  Makes you wonder where the author gained that knowledge from.  Serious kudos!

I just finished reading through Chapter 11.  It's a very comfortable read and works hard to show how comfortable the girls are with each other.  I really enjoyed the scenarios presented in various chapters, but there is one thing that surprises me.  After eleven whole chapters, there is virtually no indication that this anything more than cute platonic Elsanna.  I really don't see any indication that this headed towards a romatic conclusion.  If it is, then it may be the slowest burn romance I've read in a long time.

Regardless, the story is well written.  You capture various character traits really well and may be the first author to ever suggest that as composed as Elsa is as Queen that she is actually a slob in the bathroom.  Hilarious!
